About SAWDC
SAWDC is a non-profit organization established in 2008 to do the
work of Region 9, an 8-county region in Southwest
Alabama. SAWDC is made up of a 40-member Council
governed by a 13-member Executive Committee. Over 75% of
SAWDC's membership represents business and industry within the
region. Representation is geographically diverse as well as
industry diverse. In addition, SAWDC has over 90 ex-officio
members, who represent partners in government, education, economic
development, and philanthropy.
